Why do so many people act authoritatively regarding Christianity when they have no idea what they're saying?

People are that afraid and that hurt. I have university degrees in Physics and Sociology, and I have studied the Bible and made a concentrated effort to develop my relationship with God for 25 years. It is not about scholarly intelligence or knowledge, it is about a relationship, the only point of learning theology is to be able to have a closer relationship with God. To many Christians don't know that or forget and have caused staggering crippling damage to the very people God wants them to be loving. Remember Christ said ALL of God's Word can be summed up in Love God and Love Others with all your body, soul, and spirit.
