Thawing ground chicken..?
Ok so I bought a pound of ground chicken for the first time recently and kept it in the freezer. I took it out this morning probably around 9 or 10 and put it on a plate in the sink (no water, in its packaging). I made dinner at 7 (having left the meat out that whole time) I have an irrational fear of vomit/vomiting and am now worried about this chicken that I ate this evening. I cooked to the proper temperature but am still worried as I know you aren't really supposed to thaw meat at room temperature, only slowly in the fridge. Having just said this, I want to know if anyone else thaws their chicken just on the counter or whatever all day, and if they have been fine. I just need to put my mind at ease. ..and yes in the future I will thaw in the fridge so I don't have to freak anymore. Thanks!
