What is the meaning of "Can't Stop"?

So I've searched around looking for background info on this song. I believe that this song was loosely based upon the book The Great Gatsby. If anyone can prove or disprove this, some of the lyrics I believe strongly lean towards my opinion, but others I can't figure out how they would fit it. Thanks for the help.
