Christians: How old is the concept of the Rapture? How long has this idea been in Christianity?

I was watching History Channel this morning (The AntiChrist) and it was mentioned that this idea arose with Dispensationalism (spelling?) in the mid to late 19th Century... Why did I think this was an older concept?
